Over the last 18 months John Dearness has been writing and recording songs incorporating early blues, country, folk, rhythm and blues, and rock influences. He is looking forward to the Orkney Folk Festival and will be performing his folk songs that are very much inspired by Orkney’s history, landscape and values. He also feels very lucky to be performing on this occasion with some Orkney Folk Festival favourites; Elizabeth Duncan, Erik Laughton and Douglas Montgomery.
