One of the greatest traditional bands to have ever come out of Ireland, Dervish celebrate 25 years together in 2014. Fronted by singer Cathy Jordan - regarded by many as the most distinctive voice and finest front-woman in Irish traditional music today - the instrumental line-up of fiddle, flute, bouzouki, mandola, bodhran and accordion draw from seemingly limitless depths of talent, finesse, subtlety and fiery energy. Exceptional musicianship, breathtaking vocals, vibrant sets of tunes and instantly compelling songs all come together to make Dervish as complete a band as are to be found anywhere in the tradition.

The band's live shows are characterised by their carefully crafted arrangements, as they continue to explore the endless and timeless rhythms and complexities that make great Irish music. It is not without good reason that Dervish have become one of Ireland’s most enduring bands – whether representing Celtic music at major international festivals, playing at The Great Wall of China or setting the room ablaze in the US on St Patrick’s Day, on numerous occasions, County Sligo’s finest export continue to travel the globe, setting the standard for truly great, authentic, not antiquated, Irish music wherever they go.

“If Dervish are in town, or anywhere remotely within reach – don’t dare miss them” – Chicago Herald
