A highly celebrated and much-loved youth project, Hadhirgaan features a rolling army of young musicians who attend Kirkwall Grammar School, led by instrumental instructor Douglas Montgomery.
Now three decades in, hundreds of players have been part of of the Hadhirgaan family (including many now weel-kent Orcadian musicians), who consistently impress with their youthful, yet supremely talented, energy and driving tunes.
Hadhirgaan were part of The Orkney Gathering: Generations, a 52-strong celebration of Orcadian music, across the ages, that played a sold-out show at Celtic Connections 2019, in Glasgow's iconic Old Fruitmarket.
