Jo Philby is a popular Orkney based singer/songwriter. She's made the islands her home these past 20 plus years and is renowned for her soulful and expressive vocal, with her natural ability to convey emotion into each word utilising textures of folk and roots. She is continually inspired by Orcadian life and all it offers and enjoys sharing an insight of this in her performance.
With three albums to her name, Jo has gigs planned at home and is heading south in July 2026 to perform at The Shaftesbury Fringe – delighting audiences with a warm and friendly stage presence alongside her absorbing selection of songs.
With an eclectic taste in singers Jo has been inspired by Mary Black, Kate Rusby, Karine Polwart, Alison Krauss, Dougie Maclean to name but a few.
She is joined for a special performance by the great musicianship and sensitive accompaniment of local pianist, Steven Flett.
