We’re delighted to have recently received a Highly Commended award at the Highlands and Islands Thistle Awards, in the category of Outstanding Cultural Event or Festival.
As an entirely voluntary-run festival, it’s especially rewarding to have the awards’ judging panel recognise the festival’s cultural and economic impact upon Orkney and the north of Scotland.
The festival was represented at the awards in Inverness by board member, Kristan Harvey, and festival producer, Craig Corse, pictured alongside the awards’ host, Sean Batty.
Thank you to everyone who makes the festival such a success – our committee and board behind the scenes year round, the hundreds of volunteers that bring our gigs to life every May, record-breaking audiences from far and wide, Orkney’s thriving music scene and local musicians who join with artists from across the globe, and the wider Orkney community for welcoming the festival with such a warm embrace each and every year.
