Orkney Folk Festival is looking for community partners across Orkney’s north and south isles to help deliver its 2027 Island Hop.
The Island Hop is a special touring strand of the festival, revived and developed from a programme first delivered in 2007.
Next year’s Island Hop will run between Friday 21 and Thursday 27 May — the first day of the regular festival weekend.
Three acts/groups will travel together by boat, along with a production crew and PA, bringing a full Orkney Folk Festival concert to each participating island before joining up with the festival weekend on the mainland.
The inaugural edition lives long in the memories of all involved, and we’re inviting island groups to
express interest in being part of this second edition 20 years later.
Interested island groups, community associations, development trusts, venues and other local partners would help to provide a suitable venue and the local arrangements needed to host one of the Island Hop concerts.
